    Internship Opportunity

    Our Social Media Internship is a great opportunity to use your skills and learn new things, as you dive into meaningful projects with our Marketing Department staff.  You will create real content, analyze metrics, and participate in strategy discussions.  You’ll also attend regional events and meet industry peers and decision-makers during network building opportunities.  This internship will last approximately 8 weeks and pay $14.00 per hour, for up to a maximum of 29 hours per week.

     

    Position Description

    Under the direction of our Digital Marketing Manager, this Intern will:

    • Research new emerging social media platforms and recommend how PSTA can utilize them.  With approval, launch a PSTA presence on the new platform
    • Gather, analyze, and report on performance statistics related to social media engagement, reach, and other factors
    • Create content including event coverage, photographs, and infographics used across multiple social media platforms
    • Participate in department meetings to learn and contribute ideas about integrating social media with the overall marketing plan

     

    Learning Objectives:

    • How to identify relevant social media measurement metrics
    • Using social media as one tool among many for effective promotions
    • Working in a fast-paced, team environment

    Minimum Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be a current or recently graduated college student, with relevant coursework in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Mass Media or similar
    • Experience and/or education related to utilizing social media for business marketing
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
