Full-Time Schedule: 9:30am-6:00pm, Sunday-Thursday
Perform repairs, installations, and various maintenance activities to PSTA's facilities, in order to maintain a clean and safe environment for PSTA's employees and patrons.
Performs maintenance to facilities, including, but not limited to: remodeling of offices and buildings; painting of offices, buildings and parking areas; minor plumbing repairs; minor electrical repairs; preparation and installation of concrete areas; welding and use of cutting torch; grounds care; janitorial duties; installation and repair of bus stop signs, benches and shelters.
Makes adjustments and performs normal maintenance and repairs to Maintenance shop equipment.
Constructs and fabricates items out of wood and metal.
Oversees the Building and Ground Maintenance Workers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High School diploma or G.E.D.
Experience: At least three (3) years maintenance or construction experience. One (1) year experience welding and fabricating preferred.
License: Valid Florida Commercial Driver's license.
Special Requirements: No serious traffic violations or suspension of Driver's license, and no DUI's for the previous seven years. No more than seven points in the previous four years.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge: Basic plumbing, electrical and construction knowledge.
Skills: Use of small power tools (i.e. electric saw, drill, welding and torch etc.); carpentry skills; basic janitorial skills; some mechanical knowledge and supervisory skills helpful.
Abilities: Must be able to work with hands; must be able to use small power tools; Medium to heavy lifting; bending and stretching required.
Standing: 6-8 hours/day for sustained periods of time on concrete, asphalt or grassy areas/gravel on side of road.
Sitting/Driving: 1-2 hours/day or more on constant bases. Seat belt properly secured on required vehicles.
Walking: 6-8 hours/day on asphalt, concrete or grassy areas/gravel on side of road.
Physical Effort (Exerting weight or force to lift/pull/or move objects): Light work exertion 0-20lbs of force is 4 ½ -6 hours, medium work exertion 20-50 lbs of force 2 ½ - 4 hours, heavy work exertion 50-100 lbs. 1-2 hours. Supportive equipment is available. Both sedentary and very heavy work is rare.
Pushing, Climbing, Stooping: Occasionally required from 1-2 hours/day (Requiring lower extremities, back muscles and equilibrium).
Balancing: Rare activity, less than 1 hour/day.
Fingers: Activity picking, pinching, typing or working with fingers less than 1 hour/day. Repetitive Motion.
